Client & guest review links

Maintained by Mariia IvakhnenkoCo-founder

Let a client or reviewer see a translation without an account, and without exposing the rest of your work. Every link expires after 30 days.

How can I share a document for review?

  • View link — anyone with the link sees a read-only snapshot of source and translation. No account needed.
  • Comment link — they view and comment; they enter a name (and optionally an email for reply notifications) and join as a guest who only ever sees that one document.
  • Invite by email — if they have a Transept account they get access inside it; otherwise they receive a private review link.

Can a client see our internal comments?

A comment thread can be marked internal (editors and teammates only) or shared (everyone with access, including comment-only guests). Use internal to keep team notes off a document a client is reviewing.

Common questions

Can a client edit the translation from a review link?

No — review links are view-only or comment-only. If someone needs to change the text itself, share the document with them directly at Edit access instead; see roles & permissions.

Does a guest reviewer take up a team seat?

No. A guest who opens a comment link isn’t a team member, and Transept’s seats aren’t access in the first place — they exist only to fund a shared team word pool.

Can I send the same review link to several people?

Yes — a view or comment link works for anyone who has it, so one link can go to a whole review group, and each comment-link guest enters their own name on arrival. Use invite by email when you’d rather give one named person access.

Can a reviewer read the page in their own language?

Yes. Anonymous viewers on a share link can switch the interface language on their own device. That changes the Transept interface around the document, not the translation itself.
