FAQ

• What does one credit buy?+

  One source word translated in Standard mode. In Pro mode the model thinks each passage through before it writes, and it costs 3 credits per source word. Chinese and Japanese source text is counted per character. Credits pay only for AI work: translating, rewriting or checking your text, and reading a document to build a glossary or styleguide. Editing by hand, exports, comments and translation memory are free. The price list has the rate for every action.

• Do I see the price before the AI spends my credits?+

  Every paid action shows its price on the button you click, as a small coin and a number. Dialogs that start a run show the full cost first, as a range when it depends on what a check finds. For a message to Literess about your translation, point at the note under the message field to see its range. The charge is in whole credits and never exceeds the price shown, and work that fails is not charged. Editing, comments, exports and questions to Literess about the app cost nothing.

• Can I pay in US dollars?+

  Every plan and credit pack has a price in euros and one in US dollars: Lite is €9 or $10 a month, Starter €29 or $33, Pro €79 or $90, and packs cost €19/$22, €55/$63 or €149/$170. The switch above the plans shows either, and checkout charges the currency you pick. A subscription stays in the currency it started in, team seats included. Prices exclude VAT and sales tax.

• Can I buy more credits without changing plan?+

  Credit packs are sold on every plan, Free included: 30,000 credits for €19/$22, 100,000 for €55/$63, or 300,000 for €149/$170. Pack credits never expire, and they are spent only after your plan’s monthly credits.

• Do prices include VAT or sales tax?+

  No. The prices on this page are before tax. If tax applies to your purchase, checkout adds it and shows the total before you pay. A business with a valid EU VAT ID pays the net price under the reverse charge.

• Do unused credits roll over to the next month?+

  No. At each renewal your plan’s monthly credits are refilled to the full allowance, and whatever was left from the month before does not carry over. Credits from a credit pack never expire. Your plan’s monthly credits are always spent first and pack credits only after them, so the credits you bought last as long as possible.

• Does translating into several languages cost more?+

  Credits are charged as source words × target languages × the mode multiplier, so translating a 2,000-word document into three languages in Standard mode costs 6,000 credits. You see the estimate before a run starts and can confirm or cancel.

• What happens if I run out of credits in the middle of a document?+

  Your balance never goes below zero, and nothing already translated is lost. Every run shows its price before it starts. If your balance covers only part of a document, you can translate the part it covers, starting from the top, and finish the rest after adding a credit pack.

• Is the originality report on every plan?+

  The Originality panel, which shows who wrote what on a document, is on every plan. The PDF report is included twice on the Free plan, once per document, and you can download a document's report again as you keep working. Lite, Starter and Pro have unlimited reports. A report costs no credits on any plan.

• Which plan fits a book-length manuscript?+

  Translating a 90,000-word novel costs 90,000 credits in Standard mode, or 270,000 in Pro mode, where the model thinks each passage through for tone and voice. A book usually also gets a proofread against the source and a check of every name, which brings a Standard run to about 117,000–171,000 credits: one month of the Pro plan (€79/$90 for 240,000 credits) covers it. With Pro mode for the prose, plan on 297,000–351,000 credits, or two months of Pro (€158/$180). Plan credits renew every month and pack credits never expire, so the book can take as long as it needs.

• Do I have to buy a seat for everyone on my team?+

  No. Creating a team and inviting people is free on every plan, including Free. Seats are optional and do exactly one thing: fund a shared credit pool. Each seat adds its plan's monthly credits to the pool, all on one invoice. Without a pool, each member's work is billed to their own balance, which is often what a group of freelancers wants anyway.

• Can I switch to a different plan?+

  You can switch from Settings → Billing. Moving to a bigger plan, such as Lite to Starter or Starter to Pro, takes effect at once: the extra credits arrive straight away, and you pay the price difference for the rest of the month on your next invoice. Moving to a smaller plan, such as Pro to Starter or Starter to Lite, takes effect when the period you’ve paid for ends: you keep your current plan and its credits until then, and you can change your mind before that date. To stop paying altogether, cancel instead.

• What happens to credits I have already paid for if I cancel?+

  You keep your plan, and the monthly credits left on it, until the end of the billing period you’ve paid for. After that the account moves to the Free plan: unused plan credits lapse, and Free’s 5,500 monthly credits take over. Pack credits stay on your balance and never expire. Your documents, translations, glossaries and styleguides stay until you delete them.

• Can I get a refund?+

  Refunds cover things that went wrong on our side: a technical fault that blocked your work and that we couldn’t fix within 3 business days, or a billing mistake such as a double charge. Email support@transept.ai within the billing period in which it happened, and tell us which document or payment is affected and what went wrong. If a single job went wrong, we usually return its credits instead. Preferring different wording isn’t grounds for a refund: the Free plan is there so you can judge the quality first. EU consumers can also withdraw within 14 days of a purchase and get back the part they haven’t used. The Terms of Service have the full conditions.

• Is there an annual plan or a discount for paying yearly?+

  Billing is monthly, with no annual contract and no minimum term. To pay for volume up front, buy a credit pack instead: pack credits never expire, so a pack bought today still counts a year from now.
