Most tools hand you the text of a PDF and leave the layout to you. Transept writes the translation onto your original pages, so the brochure your designer made comes back in German, Japanese or Spanish, ready to send.
Three ways to bring a PDF in
Same pages
The translation is set onto your original pages. Images, colours, fonts and everything that isn’t text stay as they were.
Rebuilt pages
Each page is rebuilt in the original’s style, so a longer language gets room to reflow.
Text only
Just the words, as Word, Markdown or plain text, for copy you’ll lay out yourself. No layout fee.

Originality report✦
Arecordforlegalandtheclient
Brand and agency teams get asked who checked the copy before it went out. The report shows each person's edits and approvals next to what the AI wrote, and every export asks for a sign-off first.
Counted by word. The words the AI wrote, the words you changed and the paragraphs you wrote yourself, each counted on its own.
Every step on record. Translations, rewrites, fixes, your edits and your approvals in one list, each line marked as yours or the AI's.
Your sign-off, dated. Before the PDF downloads, Literess asks whether you read the translation through. Say yes and the report records it.
Two reports on the Free plan, unlimited on every paid plan.

We translated Transept itself, every page of this site and the app, into ten languages over three days, with the same glossary, style guides and memory this page describes. If you are reading this in German or Chinese, it came through that workflow.
Every plan comes with monthly credits. You spend them only on AI work, at the price each action shows before you click. No sales call and no contract: start free and add a credit pack whenever you need more.
One credit covers one source word in Standard mode. Pro mode uses a more capable model and costs 3 credits per source word. Chinese and Japanese source text is counted per character. Manual edits, exports, comments and translation memory are free: you spend credits only when AI translates, rewrites or checks your text, or reads a document to build a glossary or styleguide. Every paid action shows its price on the button before you click. See the price list.

Prices are in euros and exclude VAT. If VAT applies to your purchase, checkout shows it before you pay, and a business with a valid EU VAT ID pays the net price under reverse charge. You can buy credit packs on any plan, including Free: 30,000 credits for €19, 100,000 for €55 or 300,000 for €149. Pack credits never expire. Creating a team and inviting people is free. To share credits, add two or more seats: each seat adds its plan’s monthly credits to the team’s pool, all on one invoice. Cancel anytime and keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We give refunds for faults on our side that we can’t fix and for billing mistakes, and EU consumers can withdraw within 14 days and get back the unused part.
FAQ
Yes. Choose Same pages when you upload, and the translation is written onto your original pages: images, colours and fonts stay. Rebuilt pages re-sets each page in the original’s style when a language needs more room, and Text only gives you just the words with no layout fee. You see the price and time of each before you upload.
Add them to a glossary as do-not-translate. You can also pin the approved translation of a slogan and rule out words you never want to see. The glossary applies to every document in the project, and Transept can build a first version from documents you already have.
No. Liquid tags like `{{first_name}}`, Mailchimp merge tags like `*|FNAME|*` and language blocks are protected, so the template you export works in your email platform. Braze translation tags come back as the CSV Braze expects.
Yes. Send a comment link: they see the original beside the translation and comment on the exact sentence. Guests only ever see that one document, and links expire after 30 days.
Your text is never used to train AI, not by us and not by any provider we use, and it stays out of our logs. It is stored in Germany, in Hetzner’s ISO 27001-certified data center, and a DPA is one email away.
Translation costs 1 credit per source word in Standard mode and 3 in Pro mode. A 600-word press release is 600 credits; a 2,000-word brochure is 2,000. Lite gives you 25,000 credits a month for €9, Starter 80,000 for €29. A designed PDF adds 200 credits a document and 80 a page for the layout.
68 languages, including all 24 official EU languages, Japanese and Chinese. Regional variants include British and American English, Swiss and standard German, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Latin American and Castilian Spanish, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Yes. Create a team and invite people for free; everyone shares the same glossaries, style guides and translation memory. On Starter or Pro you can buy seats that fund one shared credit pool.
Yes. Every export first asks the person to confirm they reviewed the translation, and each confirmation is kept on the document with their name and the date. The originality report adds the share of words people wrote or changed, every edit and approval, and what the AI wrote, in a PDF you can pass to legal or the client.
A chatbot sees one paste at a time. It forgets your terms between sessions, flattens your layout and leaves you to rebuild the file. Transept applies your glossary, style guide and memory to every document, returns the same file, and shows every sentence beside the original for review.
For legally binding or certified documents, yes. For campaigns, releases and product content, many teams translate in Transept and have a native speaker review it through a comment link. Pro mode and Smart Proofread get the draft close before anyone reads it.
