Acceptance of Terms
Transept is operated by Mariia Ivakhnenko, sole proprietor, registered at Uralská 689/7, 160 00 Prague 6, Czech Republic. See our Imprint for the full legal notice. Throughout this agreement “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to Mariia Ivakhnenko operating as Transept.
By accessing and using Transept (“the Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Transept is an AI-powered translation service that uses third-party language models (including Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s GPT, and Google’s Gemini) to provide translation services with sentence-level editing capabilities.
The Service also integrates with third-party platforms including Google Drive and Notion to allow you to import documents for translation and export translated content back to these platforms.
User Accounts

- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- Accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted.

- Generate spam, phishing content, or other malicious material.
AI Translation Disclaimer
Important: translations are generated by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.
- AI-generated translations should be reviewed by qualified human translators before use in professional, legal, or medical contexts.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any translation.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating translations before use.
- Different AI models may produce different translations for the same input.
- The Service is not certified for regulated data such as protected health information under HIPAA or payment-card data, and you must not submit it. Our Security & Data page lists what we do and do not certify.
Content Ownership and License
Your Content
- You retain all rights to the original text you submit for translation.
- By submitting content, you grant us a license to process it using third-party AI services.
- You represent that you have the right to submit and translate the content.
Translations
- Translations generated by AI are provided “as is” for your use.
- We do not claim ownership of translations.
- You are responsible for ensuring translations do not infringe on third-party rights.
Third-Party AI Providers
The Service uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter) to generate translations. When you use the Service:
- Your translation requests are sent to these providers.
- These providers process your content according to their own terms and privacy policies.
- We are not responsible for the actions or policies of these third-party providers.
- Service availability may be affected by third-party provider outages or API changes.
Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms to enhance your workflow. By connecting these services, you agree to:
Google Drive
- Grant Transept permission to access documents you select for import.
- Grant Transept permission to create documents in your Drive for exports.
- Comply with Google’s Terms of Service when using this integration.
Notion
- Grant Transept permission to read pages you select for import.
- Grant Transept permission to create pages in your workspace for exports.
- Grant Transept permission to create comments on exported pages (if enabled).
- Comply with Notion’s Terms of Service when using this integration.
Important: when you import content from these platforms:
- You represent that you have the right to access and translate the content.
- The content will be processed by our AI providers as described above.
- You are responsible for ensuring the content does not violate any third-party rights.
You may disconnect these integrations at any time through Settings. Disconnecting will revoke our access but will not delete content already imported or exported.
API and automation
The Starter and Pro plans include access to our public API and to our MCP server, which lets AI assistants work in your account. The Free plan does not include them. When you use them:
- Keep your API keys secret. You are responsible for all activity under your keys, and for anything an AI assistant or script you connect does in your account, as if you had done it yourself.
- Actions taken through the API or the MCP server spend credits from the same balance, at the same rates, as the same actions in the app.
- We apply rate limits to protect the Service and may change them. Do not try to get around them, for example by spreading requests across several keys or accounts.
- We may suspend or revoke a key that is compromised, abused, or used in breach of these Terms. We will tell you when we do, unless the law or a security risk prevents it.
- Content you send through the API or the MCP server is handled exactly like content you submit in the app, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may change or extend the API. We aim to give notice before we remove an endpoint or change it in a way that breaks existing integrations, but cannot promise this in every case, for example when a change is needed for security.
Fees and Payment
Credits and translation modes
The Service uses a credit-based system. Credits are the unit in which use of the Service’s AI features is measured and charged. One credit covers one source word translated in Standard mode. Pro mode uses a deeper model and costs three credits per source word. Manual edits, exports, comments, and review activity do not consume credits — credits are only spent when an AI action translates, regenerates, rewrites, improves, fixes, or scans your text, generates alternatives for it, or reads it to build a glossary or style guide, and when Literess answers a message about your translation work on a paid plan. The price of each action is published on our pricing page and shown in the Service before the action runs. Charges are rounded down to whole credits, and an action that fails is not charged.
- How source words are counted. Credits are calculated from the source text an AI action processes, multiplied by the number of target languages it runs on. Chinese and Japanese source text, which is not divided into words by spaces, is counted per character: each character counts as one source word.
- Scans. Find, the pre-scan that decides which blocks a proofread should fix, and vision proofread are scans. Scans are charged separately from translation, at the rates shown before the run starts. Any block a proofread then fixes is charged at the rate of the translation mode used.
- Estimates and reserved credits. Each paid action shows its price before it runs, and batch runs and workflows show their estimated cost before they start. Where the exact cost cannot be known in advance, for example because it depends on how many blocks a proofread finds to fix, the estimate is shown as a range. When the run starts, we may reserve credits up to the upper end of that range from your balance. You are charged only for the credits the run actually consumes, and any reserved credits that were not consumed are released back to your balance when the run ends.
- No negative balance. An AI action never consumes more credits than your balance holds, and your balance does not go below zero.
- Which credits are used first. Your plan’s monthly credits are used before any credits from credit packs.
- Messages to Literess. On Starter and Pro, a message to Literess about translation work is charged in credits for the AI processing her answer uses. The Service shows the expected range before you send the message. You are charged only for what the answer used, never more than the upper end of that range, and a long task that reaches it stops and asks before continuing. Questions about how the Service works, and messages Literess sends on her own initiative, are not charged. On the Free plan, the 10 Literess messages are not charged.
Free plan
- The Free plan includes 5,500 monthly credits at no charge.
- Free plan credits reset each month and do not roll over.
- The Free plan includes batch actions, workflows and every translation mode, Pro mode included, but not unlimited Literess chat (Free accounts receive 10 Literess messages, lifetime). A Free account may create one team and invite members to it for free; paid plans may create unlimited teams.
Paid subscriptions
- Starter — billed monthly at the price displayed at checkout (currently €29/month). Includes 60,000 monthly credits, unlimited teams, and unlimited Literess chat, with messages charged as described under “Credits and translation modes”.
- Pro — billed monthly at the price displayed at checkout (currently €79/month). Includes 200,000 monthly credits, everything in Starter, and priority support.
- At each renewal, your monthly subscription credits are reset to your plan’s monthly allowance. Monthly credits left unused at the end of a billing period do not roll over.
- Upgrading. A change from Starter to Pro takes effect immediately. The difference between the two plans’ monthly credits is added to your balance at once, and the price difference for the rest of the current billing period is charged on your next invoice.
- Moving to a smaller plan. A change from Pro to Starter takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Until then you keep Pro and its remaining monthly credits; from the next renewal you are billed the Starter price and receive Starter’s monthly credits. The current billing period is not refunded, and you may cancel the change from your account settings before it takes effect.
- Team seats (shared credit pool) — creating a team and inviting members is free on every plan. A team owner may optionally fund a shared credit pool by purchasing seats — a standalone team subscription, minimum two seats, billed on its own invoice separately from any personal plan. Each seat adds the chosen plan’s monthly credit allowance (Starter or Pro) to the shared pool; pool credits reset each billing cycle. Seats added during a billing period are charged pro rata for the rest of that period, and the pool receives the same share of their credits; a seat removed during a period is not refunded for that period and is no longer billed from the next invoice. Cancelling the pool subscription ends the shared pool while leaving team membership and resources intact.
- You will be notified of any pricing changes at least 30 days in advance.
Top-up credit packs
On any plan, including Free, you may purchase additional credit packs at any time. Pack credits never expire and are not forfeited at the end of a billing cycle or upon cancellation. Current pack pricing is displayed at checkout; today’s packs are:
- Small — 30,000 credits for €19.
- Medium — 100,000 credits for €55.
- Large — 300,000 credits for €149.
Deleting your account removes all credits left on it, including credits from credit packs, and they are not refunded.
Prices and taxes
Prices are in euros and exclude VAT. Where VAT applies to your purchase, it is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay. A business with a valid VAT ID in another EU member state pays the net price under the reverse-charge mechanism.
Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
- When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, with its features and its remaining monthly credits. After that, your account moves to the Free plan.
- Monthly subscription credits left at the end of that billing period are forfeited. Credits from credit packs stay on your account and do not expire.
- Cancelling stops future payments but does not refund a payment already made. The cases in which we refund a payment are set out under “Refunds” below.
- If you delete your account instead of cancelling, your subscription ends immediately, without a refund for the rest of the billing period.
Refunds
We refund payments when something went wrong on our side. To request a refund, email [email protected] during the billing period in which the problem occurred, and tell us which document or payment it concerns and what went wrong. We check each request against our records of the job or payment and, with your permission, against the document itself. We refund a payment when:
- A technical fault prevented you from using the Service and we could not fix it within 3 business days of your report. Examples are a translation job that failed or stalled, a file that could not be imported or exported, and output that is objectively defective: in the wrong language, with passages missing or left untranslated, with garbled text, or with its formatting lost.
- We charged you by mistake, for example a duplicate charge, a renewal charged after you cancelled, or a charge for the wrong amount.
Where a fault affected only part of what you paid for, such as a single job, we may instead return the credits that job used or refund part of the payment.
We do not refund:
- A translation whose style or wording you would have chosen differently, when it is not defective in one of the ways described above. You can try the Service on the Free plan before you pay.
- Credits you have used, except credits used by a faulty job as described above.
- The rest of a billing period after you cancel or delete your account.
We may refuse a refund where we reasonably suspect abuse. Refunds are paid to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. Nothing in this section limits your rights under mandatory consumer law, including the right of withdrawal described below.
Right of withdrawal for EU consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may withdraw from a subscription or a credit pack purchase within 14 days of the purchase, without giving a reason. This right does not apply to purchases you make for the purposes of your trade, business or profession.
To withdraw, send us a clear statement of your decision, for example by email to [email protected]. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to. It is enough to send your statement before the 14 days have passed.
At checkout you ask us to start providing the Service straight away, during the withdrawal period. If you then withdraw, we refund the amount you paid minus a proportionate amount for what you received before you withdrew, which we calculate from the share of the purchase’s credits you have used. We make the refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the original payment method.
