Transept on your phone, and a refreshed editor

From the Transept team
Mobile mode — the editor on a phone.

Two big changes to the workspace this week. The editor everyone uses got a new, resizable layout and a visual refresh — and the whole app now works on a phone.

Added

  • Mobile mode. The editor, dashboard, and workflow builder now work on a phone — a bottom tab bar switches between Literess, your document, and the panels, one surface at a time. Heavy editing is still better on a big screen, and a winking Literess says so the first time.
  • A heads-up when long runs finish. Kick off a big translate-all or workflow run and close the tab — we’ll email you when it’s done, so you don’t have to sit and watch a multi-hour job.
  • Roomier comments. Open a thread’s full detail right in the editor panel, expand a comment card in place to read all of it, and jump straight to a comment’s block even when it’s on another page.
  • A synced page picker in both the editor and the review view, kept in step so page N is the same on each side — plus a Skip this step control on a running workflow.

Changed

  • A new editor layout, now on for everyone. Resizable side panels, a unified comment rail down the margin, and draggable page width and alignment — the layout we’d been testing is now the default.
  • A calmer canvas. A palette-independent visual refresh: a cleaner, brighter ground, softer layered depth on cards and dialogs, and smooth, reduced-motion-safe transitions. The orange brand is unchanged.
  • A zoomable editor. The whole page now scrolls and zooms like the homepage, with the sidebars and header pinned so they don’t scroll away.
  • One Literess everywhere. The editor and homepage assistant are now a single agent — she can fork a conversation into its own tab, search across your documents and past chats, and is aware of your block versions and workflow runs. She also picks a reply back up if the connection drops mid-answer, with a calmer status while she reconnects.
  • Proofread fixes are non-destructive. A workflow’s proofread fix now lands as a switchable new version of the block instead of overwriting it, so you can compare it with the original and revert.
  • Live job-progress toasts are now draggable, and tall menus, popovers, and dialogs scroll instead of overflowing the screen.

Fixed

  • Batch translation now preserves inline formatting — bold, italic, and links survive a full-document run.
  • Empty blocks no longer count as “untranslated” and no longer hold back a document’s progress — in the editor, the review view, and the CRM board and stats.
  • The marketing opt-in no longer sends a duplicate welcome email.
  • Fixed a freeze where a document with certain sentence structures could lock up the editor while its sentences were being prepared.
  • The editor no longer flips to the mobile layout when you zoom a desktop browser, and a couple of editor crashes — on sentence-dense blocks and with the browser’s built-in page translation — are fixed.
