Transept in ten languages
From the Transept teamThe big story this week is languages. Transept now speaks ten languages besides English — German, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese were already live, and French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Polish, and Turkish all landed this week, across both the app and the marketing site. You pick your language from the Languages button in the sidebar or the Language card in Settings; “Auto” follows your browser.
The Journal is localized as well — its chrome and article bodies are translated per language, so a /de, /fr, or /uk reader gets the whole reading experience in their language.
Alongside the language work, a batch of editor and review improvements shipped.
Added
- Six more languages. French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Polish, and Turkish join German, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese — the app UI, transactional emails, and the marketing site are all localized, with dates and numbers formatted per locale.
- A localized Journal. Journal articles and their surrounding chrome now render in each supported language, with the right per-language links and metadata.
- Translate + Proofread, in one action. A new primary editor action runs translation and Smart Proofread back-to-back as a single two-step pass — one confirmation, one cost estimate.
- Run on the pages you mean. Translate, Proofread, and workflow runs now have a Run on picker — This page, Whole document, or All languages — in both the run dialog and the new combo action.
- Translate and Proofread every language at once. New Translate all versions and Proofread all versions options apply a run across all of a document’s language versions in one go.
- AI sync review. When Transept proposes updates to a glossary or style guide, you can now review them first: a conflict-aware merge view shows each proposed change side by side — additions, replacements, and removals — so you accept or reject before anything is written.

- More trustworthy time estimates. Long runs now estimate their duration from the actual scoped block count, model, and step mix rather than a flat per-block guess.
- Language scope on workflows. Running a workflow now lets you choose this language or all languages, both in the builder and for one-off runs.
- A clearer cost range. Runs whose final cost can’t be known up front now explain why the estimate shows a range, with a matching help-center note.
Fixed
- Sign-up no longer stalls on the consent step — the checkbox state could make the continue button read as disabled; it now behaves correctly.
- “Export all languages” produces real files instead of occasionally downloading blank DOCX documents.
- The dashboard shows all your documents — a folding bug could hide some of them from the list.
