Translation

Words that never overshoot

From the Transept team

We reworked how words are spent so there are no surprises. Every batch translate, workflow, and proofread run now checks your balance before it starts and holds exactly what it needs — so two runs at once can’t both spend the same words, and nothing ever drives your balance below zero.

Added

  • Batch translate shows the full cost and your balance before you confirm. If you can’t cover the whole document, it tells you exactly how much fits — "1,500 words cover 59 of 60 blocks" — and translates that prefix when you proceed, with a one-click Buy words if you’d rather top up first.

Changed

  • Workflow and proofread/audit runs reserve their worst-case cost up front and only start if it fits; the unused remainder is returned the moment the run finishes.
  • Every run path is now gated on the server, not just the button — the cost you see is the cost that’s held.

Fixed

  • A balance can no longer go negative from a run that overshoots, and two simultaneous runs can no longer both pass the word check and overspend.
